Chris and Alexis | Engaged!

I knew I was going to love Alexis before I ever met her…We’d been emailing back and forth for a while and she writes just the way she talks…her emails are always so much fun to read because she uses A LOT of exclamation points and smiley faces like I do in my emails!! She wanted her engagement session to have “plantation feel”, but isn’t familiar with the Richmond area so I started researching places…a few days later before I had found a place I got an email from her that read “SHUT UP YOU’RE THE KATELYN JAMES TEAL TRUCK BRIDE???”. And I knew we had found our location. Alexis had been checking out Katelyn’s blog for Richmond locations and found our engagement session!

My aunts beautiful property is located on the outskirts of Richmond on the river…and the teal truck was actually my great-grandfather’s…My aunt learned to drive in the truck on my grandparents ranch in North Dakota, so they shipped it here for her birthday one year! And it was the perfect prop for our engagement session and then again for wedding portraits…

And I was so excited that Alexis wanted to take pictures with it!! I even made my profile picture on my personal Facebook page one of our engagement pictures because editing these reminded me of how much fun our own shoot was! My aunts property is so incredible and FULL of awesome portrait locations so we had no problem making their session unique…Alexis’ wedding colors are teal and coral (LOVE!) so I’m so excited for her to be able to use a picture in front of the teal truck in her save the dates! So we started shooting at Rocket’s Landing and then they followed me to her house…

Chris and Alexis are such a fun couple…I loved getting to hang out with them for the evening! Chris is so loving towards Alexis and I love how he obviously adores her…It was so fun learning about how they had met and I loved hearing about their wedding plans!! AHHH I am SOO excited for your wedding Alexis! You are going to be such a gorgeous bride…

Enjoy my favorites!!

And when this was the first shot I took and Alexis’ model face looked like THIS..I knew it was going to be a good day…

Ahhh you’re so pretty Alexis!!

Loved the lighting under this bridge…

Then we headed to my aunts house!

LOVE.

I had to get a shot of the back of her dress…I loved it! Coral and navy…my two favorite colors!!

The light was soo so pretty that day…I was in heaven.

The one on the left is a definite favorite of mine!

Tooo cute.

Some shots by the pond…

Love these sooo much! We took them in the same spot where Ryan and I did our first look!!!

hehe..so much excitement..I love it!!

And ladies and gentlemen…here they are! The teal truck shots…Love them all…

AHHHH Alexis you’re model face…so pretty…

I love fall…We didn’t catch these trees at their peek but I love how they were just starting to change!

And then we hurried to take a few more before we lost too much light….

Love all these with the pretty trees off in the background…

Thank you Chris and Alexis for trusting me with your photo’s! I am so excited to be a part of your big day!!!
