Norfolk Engagement Photographer | Dakota and Evelyn

They first met in an art class in college…they were dating other people at the time and didn’t hit it off until a year later when their paths crossed again. But that second time they connected right away…they share a love for the arts…she’s a writer, and he enjoys photography. With their history in fine arts they both have an eye for beauty so their pictures are important to them as a couple which just makes me love them even more! They live in an adorable eclectic apartment in Norfolk that has gorgeous views of the city…

Dakota surprised Evelyn by asking her to marry him at the Pagoda there which is a 5 minute walk from their apartment, so we started in the apartment and then made our way to the spot where he proposed. After that we hopped on the Ferry for some beautiful sunset portraits….shooting on a boat was a new kind of challenge! Because you are constantly moving, the light is constantly changing…but I just love how these turned out! We finished the evening on the rooftop of their apartment…the city lights were breathtaking and it was the perfect way to end the night…

Dakota and Evelyn, thank you so much for letting me be a part of this special time in your lives! I loved getting to capture your love + relationship and I can’t wait for your wedding day!

I hope you enjoy my favorites from their session! Happy Wednesday!
