Holly and Morgan | Engaged!

I met Holly for coffee last week right before their engagement session at one of my favorite Blacksburg coffee shops…I spent a lot of time studying there in college, but it was a new experience getting to meet a bride there! I knew Holly through the campus ministry that I was involved in at Tech, but had never gotten to spend a significant amount of time with her…can I just say that after chatting about life, her wedding, her love for the Lord, and her fiancé  for less than an hour, she is definitely one of my new favorite people!…isn’t it the best when you just click with someone right away??

After talking for a while, we headed to Morgan’s family farm for their engagement session…It was only a short ride from Virginia Tech’s campus, but I had never seen anything like it! It was surrounded by mountains and just FILLED with awesome locations for portraits…I was so excited!! We chatted with Morgan’s parents for a little bit and then made our way around the farm…we ended the session on top of the hill at the back of the property that has a GORGEOUS view of the farm, which is actually the spot where the two of them got engaged!

I hope you enjoy my favorites!

Ahhh Holly, you are gorgeous!!

I loved this old wooden barn…it was a good spot for portraits!

haha…so much excitement!!

LOVE.

We made Morgan take a step forward and for some reason we thought its was so funny!!

I love how simple and gorgeous Holly’s ring is…Good job Morgan!

ohhh you two are just the cutest!!

I couldn’t resist taking a few more shots by the pretty wooden barn…

I was so excited when I saw these colorful wild flowers! So pretty!!!

See how gorgeous the farm is???

Then we took pictures in front of ANOTHER cool old building…

While Morgan and Holly were changing their outfits, I spotted these trees that were already  changing and was so excited! This is just one reason why I LOVE fall…

Love these colors!!

Holly, you are one of the most photogenic people ever…

Then the sun started to go down and the light was so golden and pretty…

Holly found this book at a thrift store…It was the perfect prop for their session!

This is the spot where they got engaged! Look at that view!!!

Congratulations Holly and Morgan!! I had so much fun spending time with you two and it was such an honor to capture this special time in your lives…I can’t wait for your wedding day!

    Hi Mrs. Akins!

I’ve followed your blog for about 2 months and have fallen in love with your photographs! I’ve resisted the urge to post comments on many of your posts, mostly because I was nervous to get in contact with someone I’ve never met, but I knew I had to comment on this post! These pictures are AMAZING!! Quite honestly I’ve loved all of your pictures…the clarity, color, lighting and posing are out of this world. You’re a great inspiration to me!

    Keep up the good work!
    Kimber :)

Annamarie, I am in awe of these pictures….not simply because this is my sweet daughter and the patient, kind Morgan, but because you took the time to capture who they are and the beauty of this land. Thank you.
